Educational
Partnerships
To
provide the best opportunities for its students in a
changing, turbulent world, Payne is actively involved in
collaborative relationships with other institutions and
organizations. These partnerships assist Payne in fulfilling
its mission of educational and prophetic service to the
Black Church, African American community, and the world.
The
historic ties with
Wilberforce University are important to both schools.
Consultation between the institutions is a regular
occurrence concerning matters such as library acquisitions,
book lending, student employment, and religious and
community life. Both institutions continue to explore the
potential for future cooperative partnerships.
Cross-registration with
United Theological Seminary in Dayton and the graduate
program of the Department of Religion at the
University of
Dayton provide additional educational options for
persons enrolled at Payne. The latter makes it possible for
Payne students to acquire summer credits during the
seminary’s summer recess.
