Thank you for expressing an interest in our Online Master of Divinity Degree Program!
The Online Master of Divinity Degree Requirements:
To graduate with a Master in Divinity, students must complete 90 credit hours. In compliance with ATS regulations, two-thirds of the 90 credits (60 credits) may be earned online. The remaining one-third (30 credits) must be earned through residency credits. Students are able to earn residency credits through intensives offered on our main campus in Wilberforce, Ohio, as well as other selected locations. Students have opportunities to enroll for intensives throughout the year, during which six to 10 intensives are offered. We are mindful of the travel cost to students, as well as the fact that many work full-time and need to use accrued vacation time to attend these intensives; therefore, we make a concerted effort to schedule intensives to include weekends and to run back-to-back.
Description of Online Session at Payne Theological Seminary
The online program has four, ten week sessions. There are two sessions in the fall semester and two sessions in the spring semester. You may take a class in Session I or Session II in the fall semester or Session I and Session II in the spring semester. Registration will be open approximately six weeks prior to the start of the session If you plan to only take class(es) during Section II of the fall semester, you must still register prior to the start of the term.
The total number of credits a student may register for without academic advisor approval is 15. New students are advised to take no more than 12 credit hours the first semester. Classes will be dropped from the registration by the school for students who register for more than 15 credits without academic advisor approval.
